Job Summary

Kforce's client, a Detroit, MI-based automotive manufacturer, is seeking an EV Battery Tech. This role involves modifying, testing, and repairing machinery and equipment under the direction of engineering staff. The technician will assist engineers in designing, testing, and manufacturing industrial machinery, consumer products, and other equipment. Key responsibilities include preparing parts sketches, writing work orders, reviewing project instructions and blueprints, evaluating tool drawing designs, and coordinating necessary corrections.

Must Have

  • Ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations
  • Ability to perform detailed calculations to compute and establish manufacturing, construction and installation standards and specifications
  • Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology
  • Previous experience with computer applications and design software related to engineering field

Kforce's client, a Detroit, MI-based automotive manufacturer is seeking an EV Battery Tech. Summary: The main function of a mechanical technician is to modify, test and repair machinery and equipment under direction of engineering staff or physical scientists. A mechanical technician helps engineers design, test, and manufacture industrial machinery, consumer products and other equipment. Responsibilities:

  • Prepare parts sketches and write work orders and purchase requests to be furnished by outside contractors
  • Draft detail drawing or sketch for drafting room completion or to request parts fabrication by machine, sheet or wood shops
  • Review project instructions and blueprints to ascertain test specifications, procedures, and objectives, and test nature of technical problems such as redesign
  • Review project instructions and specifications to identify, modify and plan requirements fabrication, assembly and testing
  • Discuss changes in design, method of manufacture and assembly, and drafting techniques and procedures with staff and coordinate corrections
  • Inspect lines and figures for clarity and return erroneous drawings to designer for correction
  • Evaluate tool drawing designs by measuring drawing dimensions and comparing with original specifications for form and function using engineering skills

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Engineering Technology or related field required
  • 2-4 years of experience required
  • Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Team player and detail oriented
  • Basic ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations
  • Basic ability to perform detailed calculations to compute and establish manufacturing, construction and installation standards and specifications
  • Basic knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology
  • Previous experience with computer applications and design software related to engineering field

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
